Mike Humphries

Humphries has been an player on the Underground Techno scene since the early 90's as a producer, dj and remixer. Through the years, he has been behind some legendary U.K. labels such as Punish, Player, Red Seal Records, and his remixes are now heavily requested.

In 2004 he set up the Mastertraxx imprint, leaving all his other projects behind him. This label project was setup with a clear aim. To focus on a purely underground vibe. He has signed many artist over the years, who these days sound off loud and proud in the techno scene. 

In 2008 he began to co-run the Mastertraxx label with hacker and I.T. programming genius Ryan Howard (a.k.a. Dj Infusion). They took Mastertraxx into the cyber realm, to bring digital releases to a changing world of music media. This was then start point for the now infamous Mastertraxx Underground Techno Podcast. Here Mastertraxx can contribute regular sessions from the hottest dj/producers on the planet, to a dedicated techno community via iTunes.

With Mike at the nerve centre, Mastertraxx moves fwd to deliver the cutting edge of the underground to an ever increasing techno audience across the globe. Always checking for new artists, and focusing purely on the music for the vibe of Mastertraxx.

Mike has performed Dj & Live sets all around the world, but even these days, it is not an easy job to get him out of his studio, where he prefers to spend his time making the techno music that he loves and knows so well.

Tresor Review: Downstairs in Tresor, the Nachtstrom label team set the tempo and atmosphere for some real nighttime electric current: Mike Humphries is an underground club music maverick, working since the early 90s with countless top artists in the genre, composing, remixing or being remixed by respected DJs over decades. He delivered a terrific live set for our basement fans.

 
Mike left all of these projects behind him at the end of 2003 to make way for his most recent project, Mastertraxx, which began in 2004. With excellent Nachtstrom artists Alex Bau, D.Carbone and October Rust, it was clear that this Friday night was a must for all techno-house clubbers and Tresor fans.
